About The Author
Steve Witmer
Steve’s teenage years were spent in the rugged ranchlands of Northern British Columbia. After marrying Becky in 1975, they embarked on a 15—month “honeymoon” in a small log cabin in the Canadian Rockies, surrounded by majestic mountains and untouched wilderness. The couple then ventured into various vocations, including forming, logging, trapping, tree planting, firefighting, carpentry, and first aid.
In their late twenties, they joined Youth With A Mission with their two young children, Heather and Shannon, and had the opportunity to serve alongside Wally and Norma Wenge at Gleanings for the Hungry.
At Gleanings, they became part of Wellspring Christian Center and developed robust connections with Pastor Doug Hagey and the congregation. Their involvement led to a surprising call to join the pastoral staff at Wellspring, resulting in a move to Dinuba, California, where they ministered for a decade.
As the new millennium approached, the Wellspring Congregation sent them out as missionaries to Canada, returning to Northern British Columbia. Steve took on the role of Foursquare Church Supervisor for Northwestern Canada while serving as the Senior Pastor of Bible Fellowship Foursquare Church. Currently, Steve is involved in transitional coaching, intentional interim pastoral work, adjunct professorship, and clergy core retreat leadership for Focus on the Family, Canada, and mentoring many pastoral leaders.
